DIGIAGE (Digital Animation and Gaming Center) aims to bring more human resources to the gaming industry, contribute to the strengthening of the industry, be a bridge between the public and the industry, contribute to the development of emerging game studios and support young people to become conscious entrepreneurs by quickly discovering both their talents and the expectations of the industry.

Under the auspices of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology, hosted by Informatics Valley and coordinated by Informatics Valley DIGIAGE (Digital Animation and Gaming Inc.), this year's 7th camp applied a very different application process than previous years. While determining our Winter Camp'23 participants, we subjected them to 5 different evaluations. These steps are

Application Form: Participants answered questions that provided general information about themselves and their imagination.
Performance Test: Cognitive and psychological tests were administered. participants' speed of comprehension and ability to answer questions were measured.
Video Phase: At this stage, participants were tested for both their interest in the tasks and their ability to understand, analyze and respond imaginatively to the question.
Technical Case Phase: Participants were given technical tasks according to their field, working individually or in teams
Online Trainings: At this stage, the participants were enrolled in the course program for a total of 8 hours, 2 days a week. In this step, where attendance is compulsory, there were trainings on entrepreneurship and company establishment.

Our friends who are with us in this camp are those who have successfully passed through 5 different stages. This was also reflected in our camp participant profile. 26 different provinces participated in the DIGIAGE 2023 Winter Camp, which received applications from more than 50 provinces.

Kampımıza katılan arkadaşlarımız oyun girişimcisi olmaya veya oyun girişimlerinde yer almaya çok motivelerdi. Daha önceden ekip olarak bir arada çalışma oranı %83’tü, yani kampa geldiklerinde zaten daha önceden birbirini tanıyan, beraber oyun geliştirmenin teknik kısımlarını bilen ancak girişimci olmak için doğru desteği arayan arkadaşlardı. Bu arkadaşlarımız doğru yer olarak Bilişim Vadisi DIGIAGE kampını seçmeleri bizleri bu hususta gururlandırıyor. Kampa katılacak arkadaşlarımızın dengeli dağılımı oyun ekosisteminin doğru beslenmesi ve burada doğacak şirketlerin doğru yapıda olması için çok önemliydi. Kamp katılımcı dağılımımız bu hususta da %43 yazılımcı – %26 3D Artist – %22 tasarım ekibi üyesi – %8 2D artist şeklinde. Bu oransal dağılım başarılı oyun firmalarında gördüğümüz dağılımla benzerlik göstermekte. Kampımız her türlü oyun ekibine ev sahipliği yaptı çünkü katılımcılarımızın %35 mobil – % 41 PC/Konsol – % 24 her iki alanda da oyun üretiyor veya üretme planı yapmakta. Bu dağılım ile Türk oyun ekosisteminin büyük başarılar elde etmesi için gerekli olan daha büyük yapımlar yapan ekip oluşumlarına temel attığımızı gösteriyor. Kampa katılacak katılımcılarımızın oyun girişimcisi olma motivasyonları çok yüksek bu motivasyonu kendilerinin verdiği hedeflerden anlayabiliyoruz. Kampa katılacaklardan %85’i kendi oyun stüdyosunu kurmayı hedefliyor. Bu hedefe sahip olanların %25’i bir yıldan kısa sürede, %52’si bir ila üç yıl arasında, %21’i üç ila beş yıl arasında ve %2’si beş yıldan uzun sürede kendi oyun şirketlerini kuracaklarını belirtiyor.

More than 300 participants, 35 teams attended various seminars and met with 26 mentors at the 7th camp, which took place on April 25-30 at Bilişim Vadisi Gebze Campus.

After the camp, DIGIAGE will establish free of charge the companies of teams with potential, make early stage investments and then bring them together with the Informatics Valley Venture Capital Investment Fund.
